What is Floodlights?
Floodlights are built into the house. The official description says to keep them powered because light keeps the creature away, while one vulnerable entrance is still enough. They are not the flashlight. When he is at a door or window, the tutorial order is look right at him, shut the entrance, then turn on a floodlight. Players operate the switch themselves. A lit front door does not cover an upstairs window. The Locust has an extra line that it does not breach lit areas. Other creatures do not print that line. In one Boiled One night, flipping lights was not shown to change his behavior. Darkness is not a guaranteed summon. It removes the protection.

How do you get Floodlights?
Already on the house. They turn on only while house power is up.
How do you use Floodlights?
Run the full scare-off, then leave the light on rather than saving it. If he cuts the power, floodlights stay dark until someone flips the outside fuses and the screen confirms the restore. With no fuses left, they cannot come back. During a breach the house goes dark as well. See the breaker page before you run outside.
